Paint/Air Hoses and Fittings for Liquid Finishing
In automotive and motorcycle factories, there are a series of painting processes in order to produce the end product (the final plastic parts such as bumper, mirror, wheel cap, car lamp and body). After washing them out by solvents and chemicals, three steps (first coat, second coat and finish coat) of painting are necessary to improve the rust-resistance and the durability. For these three steps of painting, various kinds of paints (such as epoxy resin, urethane, melanin and polyester) are used. Finally, the polishing process (usually by air sander) is applied.
In order to deal with various kinds of paints and applications by LVLP or HVLP spray guns, HAKKO offers various types of paint and air hoses.

Current Problem: Need Measurements against Static Electricity
Situations: Our painting booth uses a lot of paints and thinners. The static electricity has been charged to the spray gun, which has become a very serious issue. So far, we did not take any measurements to deal with static electricity. However, the factory manager was informed that due to the increasing awareness of workplace safety, we have to use a hose that minimizes the charges of static electricity to the spray gun. Thus, we need flexible, anti-static paint and air hose.
Solution for Painting Line: Solvent Transfer Hose [E-SV]
HAKKO CORPORATION introduces Solvent Transfer Hose [E-SV]. E-SV is made of polyamide (nylon), showing resistance against solvent-based paints. E-SV includes a steel fiber and conductive polyurethane line, so E-SV can prevent the static electricity (charged to the spray gun) without taking the ground wire out and attaching it to the fittings. The factory manager was satisfied with E-SV, because a field worker no longer needs to pull out the ground wire, which was a time-consuming task. Also, E-SV can be used for electrostatic spray gun.

Solution for Air Line: Air Hose (Ground Wire Type) [E-AHG]
HAKKO CORPORATION introduces Air Hose (Ground Wire Type) [E-AHG]. E-AHG is made of polyurethane with a steel fiber and conductive polyurethane line, so E-AHG can prevent the static electricity charged to the spray gun. Thus, since the resistance value of E-AHG remains low, E-AHG can be used as an air hose for electrostatic spray gun and air sander (air grinding) for polishing.

A. Due to the structure of ground wire and conductive polyurethane line, without taking the ground wire out of the hose and by attaching our original fittings to the hose, you can eliminate the static electricity charged to spray gun.
B. With the ground wire and the conductive line, regardless of hose length, it shows higher ability to remove the static electricity. (Patent Registered)
C. HAKKO paint and air hoses are lightweight hoses. (For instance, the weight of E-SV-6.5 1m is 48 grams and the weight of E-AHG-6.5 1m is 56 grams.) Thus, you can reduce the burdens of your wrestles and arms, making it easy to handle.

Tip 1: Paint Shift: More Environmentally Friendly
Due to the increasing awareness of environmental friendliness, paints used in automobile and motorcycle industry have been shifting from solvent-based paints to water-based paints. Most water-based paints include alcohol, amine and Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK). Those pigments make Polyamide hose (such as Solvent Transfer Hose [E-SV] and Paint Flex-Nylon Hose [E-PFN]) swollen, leading to the short duration of hose. Thus, for water-based paints, we recommend Paint Flex-Fluorine Hose [E-PFF], Paint Flex-Fluorine Hose (Ground Wire Type) [E-PFFG] and Flexible Fluorine (ETFE) Resin Tubing [E-SJ].
Tip 2: More Use of Electrostatic Spray Gun
In order to increase the painting efficiency and save the paint consumption, more and more electrostatic spray guns have been adopted. For electrostatic spray guns, the use of paint hose with ground wire is required. For solvent-based paints, we have a nylon-based, Solvent Transfer Hose [E-SV] and for water-based paints, we have ETFE fluorine-based, Paint Flex-Fluorine Hose with Ground Wire [E-PFFG]
